ON Saturday Division-2 played away to Mordialloc in Round 2 of Pennant competition. Not knowing the test they were in for Narre came up short by 15 shots 72/87 with rinks even two-up and two-down. At the end of the day however they hold on to second spot on the ladder.

Saturday’s Division-3 side had a tough assignment against top side Mulgrave at home and with a much improved effort after the past two disappointing performances turned the tables on the top side with a surprise win by 11 shots 78/67. With two rinks up and two narrowly defeated the side still remain ninth and in the hot seat on the ladder.

Saturday’s Division-7 team were at home to Upwey-Tecoma and with all rinks up had a convincing win by 47 shots 103/56 and the reward for their consistency is that the side finds itself on top of the ladder but must continue to play with the desire to hold on to that position with two games left going into the break.

Saturday’s Division-8 side played away at Cranbourne RSL and with both rinks losing went down by 11 shots 35/46. The selectors however will continue to rotate players so new bowlers can continue to gain experience.

Tuesday’s Division 1 side had a close game at Vermont South with only one winning rink but were able to hang on and win overall by one shot 59/58. This was a much needed result as the side was sliding down the ladder. The win has improved their position moving up one spot to seventh with the advantage of playing the last two games of the round at home.

Tuesday’s Division-3 side playing at home had another nail biter with two rinks won and only one shot difference overall. The last end played for the day had the home team holding two shots for a three-shot win 59/56 and consolidating second place on the ladder with two games to go before the Xmas break.
