Alert over thefts from sheds

PROPERTY owners with sheds and garages have been warned by police to be extra vigilant with security.
This follows a recent increase in thefts and burglaries from buildings separate from the main house.
Just under $2000 of goods was stolen from an Inglis Road, Berwick, garage between 12pm on 29 July and noon the next day.
Police said a lock on the garage’s main door was manipulated before a spray gun and a set of golf clubs was stolen.
A second Berwick garage was hit on 30 July. Thieves entered the building early on Monday morning after forcing the side door on the Kirkham Court property. An array of tools was stolen including STIHL brand products, a pressure washer, power blower and chain saw.
The products were valued at a total of $3830.
Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to contact the Narre Warren Criminal Investigation Unit on 9705 3114.
