NARRE WARREN
Under-15 girl Brittany Fenton broke another Narre Warren club record for the third week in a row. Last week she set a new club record in the 1300 metres steeple with a time of 5.30.91, taking a big slice off the old record of 5.49.75 set in December 1999.
Given Laps for Kids relay events, the athletes did not complete as many events as usual but times were good and many standards were achieved. The Narre Warren and Dandenong centres thanked Casey and Dandenong councillors and Victoria Police for taking time to participate in this year’s Lap for Kids fundraising for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
This Saturday is Pentathlon 1. Athletes must compete in all five events to be eligible for a placing in this competition and the club asks all parents to sign on early for duty to ensure the program will commence at 8.30am.
HALLAM
The weather was fabulous last weekend and most athletes had improvements on their times. James Triantafilou broke two club records, for the under-15 long jump and the 100 metres hurdles.
Last week Laps for Kids was running. Everyone had a great time on the obstacle course and the relay teams showed the adults how to run.
This week is Penthalon 1, in which the athletes have to complete the five events offered. It is Hallam’s pack-up week, so everyone will be needed at the end of the program.
