Caught on the run

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

A MAN who tried to flee police after he was served a warrant at a Berwick property was chased down and arrested last Wednesday.
The man who fled, and a second man, both aged in their twenties, were remanded in custody for breach of parole and bail offences.
It’s understood police arrived at the Innes Court residence just after 3.30pm to execute the warrant where one male surrendered himself peacefully after roughly 20 minutes, while the other refused to negotiate and attempted to escape through an upstair window.
He was soon arrested by members of the Special Operations Group.
Police retrieved two allegedly stolen vehicles and a large amount of stolen property during the raid.
Some of the stolen property has been safely returned to its owners who live in the Casey region.
Both men are still in custody.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or submit a confidential crime report www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
