Relay ready and waiting

IT’S nearly March and that means one thing.
The Casey Relay for Life, starting on 13 March, is again on the horizon, drawing the community to Akoonah Park to show unified support for those battling cancer and to raise as much money for the Cancer Council as possible.
This is the event’s 12th year and participants have raised more than $2,400,000 over the years.
Earlier this month, from 13 to 22 February, the Casey Relay for Life committee co-ordinated the Add a Dollar to Your Bill campaign in which a range of local restaurants and cafes encouraged their patrons to add a dollar to their bill which will be added to fundraising for the upcoming relay.
The local restaurants and businesses that donated include 4 Figs, 81 Restaurant, Ashscotts Restaurant, Primary at Pioneer Park, Chit Chats Cafe Bar, Indian Restaurant Berwick, Touch of Dutch, Sisters Cafe Patisserie, the Berwick Delicatessen, and the Main Berwick.
This year’s Casey Relay will be held from 6pm Friday 13 March until 6pm Saturday 14 March at Akoonah Park in Berwick.
