REPRESENTATIVES from Beyondblue will visit Narre Warren tomorrow (Friday) for a special information session.
The Beyondblue bus will drive throughout Melbourne’s outer south-east on Friday, stopping at Narre Warren, Berwick, Dandenong, Springvale and Pakenham as part of its 50,000 kilometre National Roadshow.
During the visits people are encouraged to chat with Beyondblue staff in an informal environment where they can pick up free information about depression and anxiety, and find out about local support services.
Participants are also encouraged to make the mental health pledge – a written commitment to achieve and maintain good mental health.
“One in six Australians – more than 3 million people – are currently experiencing anxiety or depression or both,” Beyondblue CEO Georgie Harman said.
“Given that over half of all people with these conditions don’t seek help, we need everyone to recognise the symptoms and to realise there is no shame in getting help and it’s important to seek help early.”
The Narre Warren event will take place at Westfield Fountain Gate from 9am to 2pm.
