A busy weekend at Cardinia Beaconhills with the second round of the 2015 Club Championships played on Saturday.
In the Veterans, David Crowe is sitting at the top of the leaderboard with 156 gross.
Brian Meneilly currently leads the A Grade with a gross score of 144 after two rounds. Noel Pye is leading the B Grade with a gross score of 159 and Colin Dell is leading the C Grade with a gross score of 172.
In Saturday’s daily stroke competition Brian Meneilly (3) return the best score in the A Grade with 66 nett. B-Grade player Michael French (10) won his grade with a nett score of 70 and his wife Sarah French (26) won the C Grade with 67 nett.
Sunday was the final of the Beaconhills Cup and congratulations go to 15-year-old Patrick Coughlin (14) who won the Cup with a nett score of 73 on a count-back to Vern Hill (16). Brad Vigilante returned the best score in Sunday’s Stroke competition, playing off a handicap of 14 he returned a score of 67 nett.
Cardinia Beaconhills’ fun nine-hole ‘He Hits It She Hits It’ competition kicked off at 2.30 on Sunday afternoon with a shotgun start. Great fun was had by all in the fine conditions, with Michael and Simone Jackson taking the event with a nett score of 32.
MIDWEEK
Dave Sando (18) returned the best score in Monday’s Labour Day stableford competition with 41 points.
Playing off a handicap of three, Mark Griffin returned the best score in Tuesday’s A-Grade stableford competition with 40 points. Alex Lowden (30) was the B-Grade winner also with 40 points.
Thursday’s stableford competition attracted 71 players but it was ultimately Paul Rubens (8) who took the A-Grade win with 39 points, while Lyn Haag (22) won B Grade with 40 points on a count-back.
LADIES
The ladies are into the second round of their club championship with Liz Wong (29) returning the best score in Wednesday’s stroke competition with a nett score of 70.
