CARDINIA Beaconhills are into the third round of the 2015 Club Championships with the top 12 from each grade making it into the final round on Saturday 28 March.
Last year’s Club Champion, Brian Meneilly, is leading the A Grade with a gross score of 219 after three rounds. In the B Grade, Tony Holt is on top of the leaderboard with a gross score of 244 followed by Noel Pye with 246. The C Grade is led by Peter Brown with 267 gross, closely contended by Wes Dunkley with 268 gross.
The Veterans final was also played on Saturday with David Crowe taking the title after three consistent rounds of 79, 77 and 77 for a gross total of 233, from runner-up Andy Conn with 84, 80 and 77 totalling 241.
Congratulations to Jordan Denereaz winner of the Junior Club Championships for the second year in a row with 78, 72 and 80 giving him a total gross score of 230.
The Dave McKinnon Perpetual Trophy was played on Saturday with Nick Jones (65) winning the A Grade with 65 nett. Matt Brennan (13) was the B-Grade winner with 65 nett on a count-back and Steve Thornhill (22) won the C Grade with 68 nett.
Sunday’s stableford event was won by Michael Nealon (8) with 40 points to runner-up Warren Sutton (4) with 39 points.
MIDWEEK
WILLIAM Graham was the A-Grade winner of Tuesday’s par competition, playing off a handicap of 15 he returned a score of +6 on a count-back. John Van Diemen (19) won the B Grade also with +6.
Adrian Besley (10) won Thursday’s members A Grade stableford competition with 41 points, competing against a field of 80 players. Ron Ruth (17) returned the best score in the B Grade also with 41 points.
LADIES
THE final round of the Women’s Club Championships was held on Wednesday 18 March.
Taking out the A Grade was Marilyn Ford (12) with scores of 86, 85 and 85 totalling 256 gross. B Grade went to Lee James (25) with scores of 103, 98 and 104 totalling 305. While the Veterans Champion went to Heather Hamilton (19) with 67, 75 and 75 totalling 217. The Nett Champion was Heather Hamilton (19) with 67, 75 and 75 for a total of 217.
