Shot and dumped

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

POLICE executed a warrant at a Cardinia property on Tuesday after two injured men, one suffering gunshot wounds, were dumped outside Casey Hospital in the early hours of Saturday.
A Berwick man, 23 and an Upper Beaconsfield man, 24, were both left at the entrance of the hospital just before 1am on Saturday.
The Berwick man later died, while the Beaconsfield man remains in a critical condition.
In the hunt for a culprit police searched a Bould Road address, but no arrests were made.
The Beaconsfield man is believed to have been assaulted, suffering blunt force trauma to his head and chest.
It’s understood the two men were known to police.
Detectives have since released a photo of a white VE Holden Commodore that was allegedly used to drop off the men. They implored the driver to come forward.
It’s understood the driver – described as Caucasian, in his twenties, with a thin build and clean shaven – told staff at the hospital one of the men had been shot and then drove away.
Homicide Squad Detective Inspector Mick Hughes said the driver appeared to have an injury to his arm.
“We don’t know what that injury is. So obviously he may seek medical treatment and someone may be able to tell us that as well,” he said.
