By CASEY NEILL

POLICE today released video of an assault on a security guard at a Narre Warren shopping centre.
Casey CIU detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the man who appears in the CCTV footage, from about 12.30am on 6 April.
They allege he approached the security guard near the centre management office at the Princes Highway shopping centre.
He punched and kicked the victim to the ground before stealing cigarettes from his pocket and fleeing the scene.
The 52-year-old guard from Lyndhurst suffered facial injuries that required medical treatment.
The attacker was described as Caucasian, aged in his early thirties and about 180cm tall with a thin build.
At the time of the assault he was wearing a blue and white checked shirt, blue faded jeans, black skate shoes, a black cap and sunglasses.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
