KINDERGARTEN and childcare workers received a wide range of information during a City of Casey professional learning forum recently.
The forum, entitled Carpe Diem – Seize the Day, attracted a wide audience of early year practitioners representing kindergarten, playgroup, family day care and child care sectors and provided information on various initiatives.
Casey manager of children’s services Colette McMahon said the day, held at council chambers, was a wonderful success with delegates “walking away enlightened and empowered”.
“It’s a great opportunity for participants to enhance and broaden their skills and meet other people in the industry,” Ms McMahon said.
“With renowned guest speakers including Doctor Louise Porter, a child psychologist with 25 years experience, as well as an editor and author of several books, all delegates found the forum to be highly informative and valuable.”
About 150 participants attended the forum that is held yearly by the City of Casey.
“We look forward to another exciting and inspirational forum next year,” Ms McMahon said.
