AMUSEMENT rides, face painting, show bags, children’s art workshops and farm animals were just some of the popular attractions at the third annual Doveton Show at Myuna Farm on Sunday.
Doveton and Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal Project Officer Dina Jaballah said that the show was a huge success.
“Around 7000 people attended the show this weekend, attendance figures up by 1000 from previous years which is great,” Ms Jaballah said.
The Doveton Show is organised by the Doveton – Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal Committee as an affordable and accessible alternative to the Royal Melbourne Show for local families.
Ms Jaballah said that the amusement rides proved to be the most popular attraction with the introduction of an Unlimited Rides Wristband for $5, most rides at the Royal Melbourne Show costing $5 each.
“The rides were very popular this year, the wristband gave families value for money that they probably couldn’t get anywhere else,” Ms Jaballah said.
Families were also given the opportunity to see a variety of farm animals ranging from sheep to chickens.
The pavilion had many art and craft stalls, food stalls, showbags and children’s art activities that made the day fun for all.
Endeavour Hills Police praised organisers saying that the show was a family friendly event with no incidents to report.
