TWO of the Narre Warren Football Netball Club’s most loyal servants will celebrate special milestones when the Magpies host Doveton at Kalora Park on Saturday.
Inaugural netballers at the club, Meaghan McGill and Britti Donaldson, will chalk up 200 games, Meaghan notching up her 200th senior game when she leads the B Grade team into battle, while Britti will register her 200th combined senior and junior game in C Grade.
Meaghan, a well-respected member of the netball fraternity has played senior netball since the club joined the Mornington Peninsula Netball League in 2004.
Meaghan became the first and still only senior captain to hold a premiership cup aloft when the Magpies B Grade team won the premiership in 2012.
She goes about her business in a quiet, yet determined manner and, with accolades aplenty to her name, has been through the highs and lows of the NWFNC. Meaghan has won multiple best-and-fairest awards, shared between A and B Grades. Her premiership team-mate in 2012, Britti is the self-appointed social captain and morale booster of the club.
The first junior captain to hold a premiership cup aloft bleeds black and white and is the number-one supporter from any sideline. So dedicated to the club she loves, Britti tattooed her premiership victories and home town on her backside after the 2012 triumph.
Britti has also won multiple best-and-fairest awards in juniors, represented Casey Cardinia in interleague and is a junior premiership captain.
Always a leader on and off the field, Britti leads the charge at netball trips, bringing many laughs to her team-mates.
Both Meaghan and Britti are fortunate to be surrounded by passionate Narre Warren families and the club looks forward to seeing plenty of support from the sidelines this weekend.
