THE Hampton Park Tennis Club has hit an ace down the line after receiving $3000 in State Government funding.
The club, which received the grant as part of the VicHealth Active Club Grants program, will use the money to buy 10 new junior and senior racquets as well as six more nets for the tennis courts.
“We’re thrilled to receive this much needed grant which will allow us to provide both our junior and senior players with first class equipment,” Hampton Park Tennis Club president Ron Lamb said.
“Thank you to Judith and everyone who helped us to secure this grant, we will most definitely be putting it to good use.”
Narre Warren South MP Juidth Graley said the club had worked “exceptionally hard” to secure the grant.
“I’m delighted that all their hard work has paid off,” she said.
“Their exceptionally talented players will now be able to hit the courts with their brand new tennis racquets and smash a few aces over their new nets.
“It’s so very important that we all try to remain fit, healthy and active and I urge all local residents to get up, get moving and maybe even pop down to the Hampton Park Tennis Club to play a few matches.”
