Living, giving

THE Casey community knows how to give back.
It was no different on the weekend, when the annual GiveAbility Day was held at Westfield Fountain Gate on Saturday, a special fund-raising event which sees all proceeds go towards local charity Yooralla to help raise awareness and money for families of children with disabilities.
Westfield will match every dollar raised across all Westfield centres, capped at $500,000 nationally.
“Since 2013 Westfield Fountain Gate has generously donated almost $110,000 in support of Yooralla,” Yooralla Marketing Manager Helena Cadwallader said.
“Support such as this from Westfield Fountain Gate and the Fountain Gate community contribute towards recreational camps, therapy programs, equipment and new technologies for children with disability.”
On the weekend a variety of activities were available for families at Fountain Gate to celebrate the occasion, including music stalls and food giveaways.
Money raised on GiveAbility Day will also go towards the Narre Warren Children’s Centre, as well as equipment, technology and other items designed to support families of children living with disability.
“Over the last four years, GiveAbility Day has enabled Westfield centres to raise awareness and contribute over $1.4m in funds,” Westfield Fountain Gate Marketing Manager Allisha Crowther said, “Providing much needed therapy programs, respite services and specialised equipment for local families of children living with disabilities.”
