It’s hard to pick the best

By KATHRYN BERMINGHAM

The finalists for the 2015 Casey Cardinia Business Awards were announced at a special reception held on Monday 10 August at Monash University, Berwick.
Thirty-six of the best businesses in the region were named finalists across 12 categories with the winners to be announced at a gala dinner on 22 October.
City of Casey Mayor Mick Morland congratulated all the finalists who were chosen from more than 110 applicants.
“The judging process was extremely difficult due to the exceptionally high standard of entrants, with the judges really having to look for the little things that gave our finalists that extra edge.
“They looked for innovation, environmental sustainability, business planning, access for all and enthusiasm.
“The finalists for 2015 are a fine example of strong businesses with all the hallmarks of success and they should be proud of this achievement which recognises them as among the best in the region in their particular field,” Cr Morland said.
Cardinia Shire Council Mayor Leticia Wilmot thanked all the entrants for their participation in the 2015 awards program and their commitment to business excellence.
“These awards are a great way to acknowledge the many exceptional businesses operating across the Casey-Cardinia region and are a celebration of the success and innovation of our local businesses to the wider community.
“Every business nominated for an award has done an exceptional job and is making a significant impact in our local economy.
“Special thanks must go to our 2015 judging panel for their hard work in assessing all our entries.
“I know that the high calibre of our entrants makes your job a real challenge, but what a great challenge to have.
“Congratulations to the nominees and finalists and I look forward to seeing the winners announced in October,” Cr Wilmot added.
