Worthy of praise

NOMINATIONS are open for the City of Casey’s 2016 Australia Day Awards.
Casey Council is taking nominations across seven categories, which include Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year, Non-resident of the Year, Community Event of the Year, and Fund-raising Event of the Year.
“The council needs your help to unearth the people, groups and organisations in the community that go above and beyond dedicating their time to improving the lives of others and whose exceptional commitment has greatly benefitted and enriched the Casey community,” Casey mayor Mick Morland said.
“If there’s someone that sticks out in your mind that demonstrates excellence in their field, inspires others and shows leadership, or a wonderful community event worthy of praise, then nominate them for an award.”
Individual nominations close at 4pm on Tuesday 27 October, while the community event/activity nominations close on Tuesday 5 January, at 4pm.
All eligible nominees will be acknowledged at the Casey Australia Day Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 26 January.
