NARRE Warren’s State Emergency Service (SES) was kept busy over the weekend after the state’s water storage levels were boosted by 50 to 100 millimetres of rain.
SES operations manager Kanny Lee said on Sunday her crew was called out to 10 premises damaged by the rain and wind.
“Most jobs we were called out to had cracked tiles or rain was coming down in holes in the roof that they didn’t know existed,” Ms Lee said.
“The wind was pushing the rain into an unusual direction so the rain was coming through light sockets and other weird places.”
Some roads in Casey were flooded.
SES crews called to Courtney Drive, Cranbourne, and Guildford Crescent, Narre Warren.
While some members of Narre Warren SES went to Gippsland helping to evacuate residents after flooding, the rain was welcomed by most in Victoria.
Water storages on Monday were at 40.2 per cent, up from the 39.8 per cent at the weekend.
