THE annual Trade Union Family raceday was held at Cranbourne on Sunday with a crowd estimated at 4500 attending and creating a happy, family atmosphere.
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera joined Victorian Trades Hall Council president Ann Taylor at the annual feature day in perfect weather, highlighted by a great afternoon’s racing together with a variety of on-course activities and entertainment.
The day was complemented by events including professional footraces on the harness racing track between horse races, together with live music from Joe Camilleri and free children’s activities.
The meeting was well supported by local and metropolitan trainers with Cranbourne-trained horses winning two of the eight races and locally based jockey Craig Newitt booting home four winners.
