Teenager bashed, robbed

POLICE are looking for witnesses after a 15-year-old boy was the victim of assault and robbery in the Fountain Gate Shopping Centre car park between 1am and 3am on Tuesday 6 November.
The victim was punched in the jaw and knocked unconscious before his wallet and phone were stolen, police said.
According to a police report, the youth and seven friends had just been to the McDonald’s Restaurant when they stopped to watch a brawl in the car park before moving away from the area.
“For no apparent reason”, the report said, the group was then chased by a large group of males.
The victim and his friends ran through the shopping centre car park to the bushland area.
The victim was by himself when he was attacked by an unidentified male, causing a suspected broken jaw and severe trauma. None of his friends witnessed the incident.
The restaurant manager believes the offenders may have been in McDonald’s before the incident. Police said footage from the video security system had been recovered but they were unable to comment further while the investigation continued.
The offender is believed to be in his 20s and of Caucasian appearance. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
