MORE than 200 people headed to the City of Casey’s Road Safety Education Centre in Cranbourne East during the school holidays and took part in an array of fun and educational activities.
Casey manager of community safety and support Caroline Bell said the centre proved to be a fun, economical and educational way to entertain the children during the school holidays and the parents made the most of the barbecue and picnic facilities available.
“There were giveaways, including free vouchers for local businesses, as well as competitions, safety advice, prizes and games, including the Caseyville community safety game, which was very popular with all ages,” Ms Bell said.
“The advantage of this state-of-the-art facility is that it benefits both children and parents.
“Children learn about road safety in a controlled environment and parents can support and continue to educate their children on the roads.”
The Casey Road Safety Education Centre is a mini version of Victorian roads with school crossings and street signs that enable children to practise their road safety skills in a safe place.
The Holiday Fun Days program at the Casey Road Safety Education Centre will run again during the summer school holidays.
