THE Casey Gardens caravan park is set to become Narre Warren’s newest community precinct.
Earlier this month, councillors decided on a strategic vision for the current site of the Casey Gardens Residential Village.
The caravan park, located off Fullard Road, is to become a high density, sustainable residential development.
Mayor Sam Aziz said he was thrilled to adopt the plan which was recently supported by the Victorian Civil and Administration Tribunal (VCAT).
“Casey Gardens sits within the residential growth zone and through this development plan the site will be transformed from a residential caravan park into a vibrant community precinct,” he said.
“It is a unique site which offers immense possibility for development, given its close proximity to public transport with the Narre Warren railway station and the Fountain Gate Major Activity Centre around the corner.”
The plan will deliver high housing density with improved access to Narre Warren railway station via a pedestrian bridge across the drainage reserve.
Paths will be linked across open space and a mix of different dwelling facades and high quality urban design will be implemented.
