Ram raiders hit party store

THIEVES rammed a car into the rear entry of Lombard The Paper People’s Fountain Gate store in the early hours of Monday 11 January and stole $8000 in cash before police arrived.
The store on Victor Crescent in Narre Warren was raided between 1.30am and 1.50am after the power to surrounding shops was shut down.
Registers and safes were searched in Lombard’s before the raiders struck neighbouring Captain Snooze by forcing their way in through a back door.
A CCTV camera was smashed inside the bedding store but a power loss warning alarm alerted police to the incident.
Several police units responded but arrived after the raiders had escaped.
Police are currently reviewing other CCTV footage for leads.
