CASEY Aquatic and Recreation Centre (ARC) scooped the pool at the annual YMCA Victoria Awards held at Caulfield recently.
Other local YMCA-run facilities also won awards but it was the team at the ARC which won the coveted YMCA of the Year accolade.
The group showed why they were worthy winners of several awards only days later after lifeguards resuscitated a young girl who was dragged from the pool.
Capping off a good awards night for the Fountain Gate complex was Casey ARC manager Amanda Ashton being named manager of the year.
Casey ARC received the key award for demonstrating the highest level of professionalism and leadership across all areas of operations and program delivery.
The award, assessed by key senior and specialist managers of the organisation, recognised performance against best practice benchmarks and delivery of the YMCA mission and values in the community.
A total of nine awards were won by YMCA venues in the City of Casey.
Others winners included:
CASEY ARC staff team rescue – YMCA heroes.
CASEY ARC Big Brother Big Sister – Excellence and achievement in programs.
ENDEAVOUR Hills Leisure Centre group fitness instructor Nicki Brown – Excellence and achievement in health and wellness.
