School leaders step up

THE young leaders at James Cook Primary School are ready to take the school forward.
The new student leaders at the Endeavour Hills school were officially unveiled on Monday 15 February at a special assembly.
Four school captains, eight house captains and a number of student representatives and specialist captains were presented with their badges by Aimee Clydesdale.
Aimee was school captain at James Cook in 2005 where she flourished as a talented basketball player.
Aimee now plays for the Dandenong Rangers in the WNBL and is in the squad for the Australian Opals.
She spoke to the students about the need to work hard to achieve the best out of life and make the most out of their time at the school.
The election process for the captains involved all candidates presenting speeches to their peers and teachers.
The peers voted for a student who they believed would make a suitable leader at the school and the candidates were then shortlisted.
