OVARIAN Cancer was the main topic of discussion at a Berwick hospital this week.
The colour teal could be seen everywhere at St John of God during the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day held at the hospital on Wednesday 24 February.
An afternoon tea, attended by hospital caregivers and obstetrician Dr Rudy Lopes, helped spread awareness of the disease – while teal-coloured cakes and treats were available to sweet-tooths seeking to help fund the cause.
According to statistics, ovarian cancer kills more than 50 per cent of the almost 1500 women diagnosed with the illness each year.
