Parkers flip result for win

WITH the start of the second half of the Royal Victorian Bowls Association Pennant draw, Hampton Park played at home against Chelsea in Division Four Section Six and reversed the results of the teams’ previous encounter.
Trailing by 11 shots late in the game, Jim Westwell, Jeff Crozier, Lionel Williams and skip Geoff Ladner picked up seven shots in the three ends to go down by four, 22-18.
Although Sean McDonald, Larry Simpson, Zac Storm and skip Neville Hendrie could only win nine ends, they lost by four shots, 25-21.
Pat Moevasa, Lance Davis, Geoff Ampt and skip Bob Woodfield were again in the winners’ circle with another good 11-shot win, 31-20.
Les Unwin, Mark Paton, Ken Cobden and skip Robert Naismith played well in the second half to win by eight shots, 30-22.

The Parkers travelled to Willow Lodge and ended up with a good 20-shot win.
Greg Pentland, Alan Wilcock, Bernie Bruggeman and skip Bill Webb won nine of the last 12 ends to win 26-19.
A slump near the end did not stop Gerry Cox, Ray Wood, Keith Damon and skip Robert Nicol from winning by 14 shots, 32-18.
A good finish allowed Jos Van Hout, Allan March, Paul Barna and skip Rob Woff to be up at the end 34-25.
After being level at 12 ends, Keith McCarthy, Wally Waterman, Fred McBrian and skip Andrew Brandolin slowly dropped behind to go down by 10 shots, 33-23.

DIVISION A2 SECTION 8

The trip to Edithvale resulted in a close game but no points for Hampton Park.
Helen Lambert, Rhonda Diaper, Keith Damon and skip Heather Naismith could not shake the opposition and had to settle for a 23-23 draw.
The Edithvale team was too strong for Gail Wilcock, June Damon, Alan Wilcock and skip Mary Hose, winning 30-17.
Ray Wood, Rob Woff, Ellen Smith and skip Christine Hendrie were equal on the end 24, but dropped a five on the last to lose by five shots, 21-16.
Leading from start to finish gave Gail Williams, Gwen Clough, Andrew Brandolin and skip Geri Graafsma a seven-shot win 25-18.
Scores: Edithvale 2/92 d Hampton Park 0/81.

It was a long trip to Middle Park and after a short delay on one rink the Parkers got the result they wanted.
Keith McCarthy, Ray Leggett, Andrew Brandolin and skip Geoff Ampt lost 18.75-16.
Sean McDonald, Keith Damon, Lance Davis and skip Neville Hendrie won 23-16.
Jim Westwell, Ray Wood, Christine Hendrie and skip Geoff Ladner lost 15.25-13.
Score: Hampton Park 8/52 d Middle Park 4/50.
