Cash elected for surgery

CASEY Hospital patients will benefit from an elective surgery funding boost, according to the State Government.
In the upcoming state budget, the hospital is also being funded for a new high-acuity unit for severely ill patients as well as getting a share of a state-wide $335 million injection for elective surgeries and capital works over four years.
The government states the funding for new beds, theatres and equipment will help nearly 200,000 Victorians get elective surgery faster.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Couacaud Graley said elective patients waiting longest would be prioritised.
“This funding will support hospitals to treat more patients, more quickly and help get
patients off waiting lists.”
Narre Warren South MP Luke Donnellan said the funding would mean Casey patients can get treatment close to home.
