THE City of Casey will come alive on Saturday 26 January as residents celebrate Australia Day across several locations.
Casey mayor Janet Halsall said: “Australia Day is a great opportunity for everyone to get together and celebrate our national day, reflecting on what we have achieved and what we can be proud of.
“There are a number of fun, free family events being held throughout the municipality on the day so I encourage everyone to come along and celebrate Australia Day.”
Events being held throughout the City of Casey include:
Actively Diverse – Doveton Australia Day Celebrations
This event will have free live music, cultural dance, performances, healthy food stalls, sporting activities, art and craft workshops, roving entertainment and much more. It will be held at Betula Reserve, Kidds Road, Doveton, at 11am – 3pm. Entry is free. Phone 9791 4760.
Sunset Cinema – Tooradin Australia Day Celebrations
Free open air cinema featuring the family friendly movie Ratatouille, rated PG, as well as face painting, live entertainment, stalls and flag raising at Sawtell’s Inlet, Tooradin, from 7-11pm. Entry is free. Phone 5998 3699.
Pioneers Park – Berwick Australia Day Celebrations
Free live entertainment, performances, damper making, flag raising, activities, horse coach rides, whip cracking demonstrations and stalls at Pioneers Park, corner of Peel Street and Lyall Road, Berwick, from 11am – 3pm. Entry is free. Phone 0418 320 091.
Cranbourne Activity Day
Experience the facilities of the Casey Indoor Leisure Complex with free sample activities including sport, recreation and performing arts. The Factory Rehearsal Centre for the Arts will come alive with live entertainment, a community barbecue, stall holders, jumping castle, free workshops and face painting at Casey Indoor Leisure Complex, 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East, from 9am – 1pm. Australia Day Celebrations hosted by the Hampton Park Bowls Club
Enjoy an informal introduction to bowling as well as a free Aussie barbecue and afternoon tea at the club at Hampton Park Bowls Club, corner Narellan Drive and Pound Road from 10am – 3pm. Entry is free. Phone 9799 6803.
