RECYCLING was taught with colour, verve and Spanish flair at Berwick Primary School.
As part of the school’s Spanish Week, students transformed cloth scraps, cardboard cartons and bottle tops into flamenco dresses and matador jackets.
Others created an Amazonian flower from plastic bottles and magazines.
In the midst of this were lessons in capoeira – a Brazilian hybrid of martial arts and dance.
Assistant principal Andrew Horsburgh said a “loud and energetic” Latin rhythm band performing with recycled instruments fittingly closed out the week.
