A DOVETON man had his $330,000 Mercedes Benz coupe impounded after “having a bit of fun” while loudly revving and fishtailing through traffic in Southbank on 5 September.
A Melbourne Highway Patrol officer waved in the 2015 GTS coupe after seeing it do a U-turn and fishtail on Kings Way about 11.20am.
The 35-year-old driver told the officer he had the car on one of the “silly settings” and was “having a bit of fun”.
The car was impounded for a month, which will cost the driver $873.
Police said he will be charged on summons with traffic offences including improper use of a vehicle.
Fun ends in fine
