NARRE Warren’s turf-three team went down to a strong number-one spot Silverton unit on Saturday.
Making 246 last week Narre battled Silverton that showed why it is in top spot this year.
All the bowlers toiled hard on a perfect batting pitch.
Silverton passed Narre’s score four wickets down in the 55th over, but decided to keep batting and finished at 8/348.
Best of the bowlers was Ben Charles 4/49.

Narre Warren took on Berwick, losing the toss and being told to bowl.
Berwick set the score of 205 after the 36 overs.
Best of the Narre Warren bowlers was Trent Anderson with 3/41 off eight overs.
Starting the run chase, Narre batted well, but was unable to chase down the score and ended up on 121, 9 wickets down at close.
Best of the bats were Mick Teeuw 26 and Paul McMahon 18.

Narre Warren played Endeavour Hills at home and bowled first.
The team was excellent in the field and bowling was tight with wickets falling steadily until Endeavour Hills was all out for 96 off 23 overs. Ricky Clark and Chris vanDam took three and two wickets.
In reply Narre Warren lost some early wickets, but Gordon King and Clark steadied the team and secured victory.
Narre Warren finished 4/109 off 17 overs with King 55 not-out and Clark 17 not-out.

Playing away against Endeavour Hills at Pargeter, vice-captain Craig Mentiplay lost the toss and the team was sent into field with the opposition hitting up 248 in its allotted overs.
Best of the bowlers was Greg Sealby picking up 5/57 off eight overs.
Unfortunately the Narre was unable to beat the total made by Endeavour Hills with Vic Bradshaw 44 and John Easton 27.

Sending Berwick in to bat first in the one-day game saw the visitors get off to a solid start.
It was not until the score was on 40 that Narre Warren was able to make the initial breakthrough courtesy of a direct-hit run-out by Ben Carter.
Some excellent fielding saw Narre Warren bowl Berwick out for 78 in the 20th over. Josh Amsterdam was again the pick of the bowlers although six run outs (five direct hits) were also a highlight.
In reply Narre Warren finished on 4/90 with Dylan Quirk and Lashlan Jayasuriya both making solid contributions.
It was a good team effort once again.

Narre Warren playing St Mary’s and after losing the toss was put in the field and straight away its bowlers dominated.
Runs were hard to come by for St Mary’s through some great fielding and tight bowling restricting the opposition to just 63 after its 20 overs.
With only 64 needed for victory, things started badly losing some early wickets.
At 4/32 the game hung in the balance until Andrew Cook (four) and Jamayne Vancuylenburg (41 not-out) put on a 38-run partnership to take Narre Warren over the line, finishing 6/96 after 20 overs.

Narre Warren batted consistently and managed to pass their score in the last over.

At the compulsory close Coomoora was 6/88 with Cameron Parker 1/8 and Lachlan Shaw 1/3.
Going into bat Narre Warren made 1/131 before close with Shaw 28 not-out, Dylan Morrison 26 not out and Zach Allen 20 not-out.

After 20 overs, Endeavour Hills had been restricted to 81.
Best of the bowlers were Ryan Quirk (2/6 off two overs), Veran Wanigisundara (2/7 off two overs) and Travis Johnston (1/6 off two overs).
Narre Warren then batted and smashed 143 from 20 overs.
Both the Dempster twins opened and gave the team a great start with Reece making 24 and Mitchell 10.
Other good contributions came from Tom Dovaston (25), Mitchell Healey (15) and Shilpa Weerasekera (eight).

Playing Maranatha Methodists at Strathaird, Narre lost the toss and was sent in to bat.
After 23 overs Narre had compiled an impressive 130 runs.
Best bats were Billy Spreckley (16), Nathan DeSilva (17) and Matt Christou (15).
Maranatha then batted and after its 23 overs finished with 107 runs.
Best bowlers were Callum Sigaras (1/10 off three overs), Tom Marshall (0/6 off two overs) and Caleb Johnston (0/1 off two overs).

An excellent batting performance saw the total pass 100 for the second time this season.
