WILSON Botanic Park in Berwick is set to turn into a camping ground for a weekend in October.
Residents can pitch their tents overnight in the gardens and enjoy activities staged by Scouts Australia as part of the Urban Camp event on 15-16 October.
Among the activities are orienteering, a camping demonstration, ropes course, damper making, night walk, and campfire sing-along.
Casey chief executive Mike Tyler said the event would provide a camping experience close to home.
A site for four people costs $100, plus $40 for each extra adult and $20 for extra children. It includes a Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast.
There will also be a sausage sizzle lunch on Sunday, with extra food available for purchase at the site.
