THE City of Casey will host two free forums on Saturday 8 October, one for seniors and one for carers and people with a disability, on the topic of succession planning.
The keynote speaker at the Future Care – Now forums will be succession planning lawyer Dona Graham from CAREfusion Advocacy and Legal.
City of Casey CEO Mike Tyler said the forums would help educate and support older residents to age positively and carers and people with a disability to consider and plan for what the next phase of their life might look like.
“Dona has a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to ageing, caring and disability and will endeavour to help attendees navigate the legal and service maze.
“She will take all the general information about the legal side of ageing and caring, support services and entitlements, retirement accommodation and the National Disability Insurance Scheme and help simplify it and relate it to those in the audience.
“Council hopes those who attend these forums will leave better informed, not only about their rights and entitlements but also about their care and support options now and into the future in their local community,” Mr Tyler said.
The seniors’ forum starts at 10am and concludes at 12.30pm at the City of Casey Civic Centre, Magid Drive, Narre Warren.
The carers and people with a disability forum starts at 2pm and concludes at 4.30pm at the same venue.
Bookings are required and can be made by calling City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 5200 or emailing cso@casey.vic.gov.au.
