Grant applications set to close

COMMUNITY groups within the City of Casey have two weeks left to apply for funding through the city’s Grants Program.
Casey mayor Janet Halsall said: “The City of Casey proudly works with groups and organisations to develop and provide a range of events for residents, so I strongly encourage local groups and organisations to apply for the available sponsorship opportunities.”
The grants are for large-scale events held between 1 August 2008 and 31 July 2009.
“Council recognises that events and festivals play a key role in building strong communities through providing opportunities for cultural enrichment, creating volunteer participation and skill development opportunities as well as enhancing civic pride and community identity,” Cr Halsall said.
“Should applicants be successful, they will also receive support and guidance from council staff to assist with planning the event.”
Application forms and guidelines for the sponsorship of events grants are available to view and download from council’s website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/funding or by contacting council on 9705 5200.
Applications close on Thursday 28 February.
