A HALLAM manufacturer plans to create 14 local jobs with the help of a $200,000 state grant.
Eco Garage Doors will use the Local Industry Fund for Transition grant to upgrade equipment which will allow it to make better single-skin doors at cheaper cost.
As a result, it expects to employ seven retrenched automotive workers among the extra 14 in the first 18 months.
The $33 million fund is still open for expressions of interest.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Couacaud Graley said the grant created jobs in the local community, which was home to many people who had “significant industry knowledge and expertise”.
