Wannabe burglars’ raid farce

Bumbling criminals who attempted to steal a car in Berwick abandoned their loot and fled the scene after a very short-lived car theft.
Police said four young males gained entry to a house via the rear door after 12.30pm on Friday 20 January.
Once inside the house, they stole a set car keys from a bookshelf.
They then went to the driveway and as they were backing a Ford Fairmont out of the driveway they hit another car that was parked on the opposite side of the street.
It is believed nothing of value was stolen from the Fairmont and there was only minor damage to the parked car.
Police said the young men fled the scene and have asked anyone in the area who may have seen anything suspicious to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
