Teens charged with armed robbery

By Victoria Stone-Meadows

Two boys have been charged following an armed robbery of a milk bar in Berwick on the night of Sunday 28 May.
Police allege the two 15-year-olds entered the shop on Bemersyde Drive about 7.45pm armed with a hammer and a knife.
The boys were able to extort cash from the shop attendant before fleeing the scene on foot.
One of the boys was arrested on Hedgeley Drive and another at an undisclosed property in Berwick a short time after the incident.
They were both arrested and charged with armed robbery but have been bailed to appear at the children’s court at a later date.
