NARRE Warren local Constance Van Twest had 100 reasons to smile last Sunday.
Mrs Van Twest celebrated her 100th birthday and was joined by family and friends spanning up to four generations.
The Sri Lankan-born woman has lived in Australia for 35 years, with the last 15 years spent in Narre Warren.
Congratulatory messages were sent from dignitaries such as Queen Elizabeth II, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Victoria Premier John Brumby.
Holt MP Anthony Byrne also extended his best wishes.
“On behalf of the Holt community, I congratulate Constance on reaching her 100th birthday and hope she has enjoyed wonderful celebrations to mark this event,” Mr Byrne said.
“It is an honour to be able to celebrate Constance’s milestone and present her with this certificate.
“I would encourage Holt residents to contact my office if they or their family and friends are celebrating a milestone birthday or anniversary and organise a congratulatory message.”
