Survey a boost for business

THE City of Casey is conducting its biennial Industrial Business Survey to help identify and address the needs of Casey’s booming industrial and wholesale sector.
City of Casey chief executive officer Mike Tyler said there has been strong growth and activity in the local business sector, with the number of industrial and wholesale businesses in Casey up 25 per cent over the past two years.
“This is huge growth and it is important that the City of Casey has the most current information on local business needs, in order to deliver relevant services and training opportunities and help foster an environment in which local business can continue to grow,” he said.
Casey’s Business Development Unit is co-ordinating the survey with Thursday, 1 December the closing date.
In recent years the survey has resulted in seminars on marketing, exporting and business strategy. Key benefits to businesses include the Casey Industry and Wholesale guide, which has many practical uses, including business-to-business commerce.
The guide, due out in the middle of the year as a CD, can be bought by the general public but every business that completes the survey will receive the CD free.
The guide will also be available on the City of Casey’s website.
The survey will also identify the needs and issues specific to Casey’s industrial businesses
The survey responses will help the Business Development Team to develop effective programs for Casey businesses and advise councillors of policies and projects that will address key issues in the local economy.
An economic profile will also be included, with survey responses producing a snap shot of the structure and performance of Casey’s industrial sector. This is used to promote Casey’s capacities and challenges to decision-makers in government, media and finance.
