High tea in Hampton Park

By Cam Lucadou-Wells

Hampton Park’s finest will be toasted over a lavish high tea to mark the suburb’s centenary.
Hampton Park Progress Association spokeswoman Vanassa Gerdes said awardees – people, groups and businesses from the past and present – were nominated by the community.
“There were a lot of names that you wouldn’t know and unfortunately are not here anymore.
“We’ve invited their families to tell them their community has remembered them for what they have done.”
The awards also serve as a reunion for those who have lived in Hampton Park – over a decadent range of sweets, finger sandwiches and savoury treats.
All are welcome.
The Hampton Park Centenary High Tea Awards and Past and Present Reunion is on Sunday 19 November, 1pm-4pm at Arthur Wren Hall; $20.
Tickets: Hampton Park Community House, 9799 0708 (Monday-Friday 9.30am-3pm) and Arthur Wren Hall, 0428 898 235 (Fridays 9.30am-11am).
