EDWIN Flack Games co-chairman Bob Muir told guests at the Ermera sports team fundraising launch he had been involved with the games sine 2000.
Mr Muir said the first games were held in conjunction with the Olympic 2000 torch relay through the City of Casey.
He said his involvement began through his sport, soccer.
“I am happy, however, to be involved in any of the sports,” he said.
“The Edwin Flack Games have been supported by some of our finest volunteers, including Greg Farley and Sue Hiller.
“These people have put their hands up again to be involved in the Edwin Flack Games next year.
“Casey Council has also given our committee enormous support.
“We are asking people to give as much support as they are able because it will be a fantastic opportunity to bring young people from Ermera (East Timor) to Australia.”
Mr Muir said valuable support could include things such as transport and sports bags.
