CASEY residents are being encouraged to pay tribute to the people who have served in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) by attending an Anzac Day service tomorrow (Friday).
The day continues to grow each year, as a new generation of youngsters is introduced to the importance of remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. A stirring moment of every Anzac Day is the Dawn Service and locals from both ends of the city can pay tribute to our Diggers.
The Narre Warren Cenotaph, next to the City of Casey Civic Centre, will host a 6am Dawn Service.
The Cranbourne RSL Club will also host a Dawn Service with the event starting at 5.45am.
The Narre Warren North community will also pay its respects with a service at the town’s Memorial. Locals who have served with ADF will also be honoured with the unveiling of a bronze plaque.
Organiser Bob Street said local scouts, guides, church members and students from Narre Warren North Primary School would all be involved in the ceremony.
Anzac Day events across the City of Casey include:
• 5.45am Dawn Service at Cranbourne RSL Club, 1475 South Gippsland Hwy.
• 6am Dawn Service at Cenotaph, Magid Drive, Narre Warren.
• 10am Service at Narre Warren North memorial, Memorial Drive.
• 10.30am Service at Cenotaph, Cranbourne, Clydesdale Square, High Street.
• 11am Service at Cenotaph, High Street, Berwick.
