750 find relief at society conference

A 750-strong contingent of women from all over Melbourne gathered in Narre Warren North recently for a Relief Society Conference.
The event was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Casey mayor Janet Halsall and South Eastern Metropolitan Region MP Inga Peulich both attending as invited guests. The evening consisted of four guest speakers as well as musical entertainment.
The Relief Society is one of the oldest female organisations in the world.
After the meeting Cr Halsall and Ms Peulich mingled with visitors and were also given a conducted tour of the building. Cr Halsall said she was impressed to see how the church was supporting the local community with a facility that encourages people from outside the area to come to the City of Casey.
This building will be open to the public on Saturday 3 May from 1pm to 2pm. This is one of three places of worship which will be part of the tour organised by the Casey Multi-Faith Network. The Yun Yan Buddhist Temple will be open from 2pm to 3pm and the St Paul Apostle Catholic Church from 3pm.
