THE Rotary Club of Narre Warren recently presented a major award to local student Jeremy Foster.
Mr Foster received the Norman J Barr Vocational Service Award to help with his electro-technology studies at Chisholm Institute’s Berwick campus.
He was presented with the award, a certificate and a cash grant by Vocational Service Committee member and Rotarian Steve Shutt.
Award organisers said Mr Foster was nominated for his outstanding application and achievement in his studies.
The award, in its twelfth year, is named to perpetuate the memory of the late Norman Barr who was a long-standing member of the Rotary Club and past president.
Mr Barr had a keen interest in the electrical and electronics areas.
Rotary officials said the award was seen as an appropriate recognition of Mr Barr’s dedication and service to Rotary and the wider community.
Two of Mr Barr’s children, James and Cecilia Barr, attended the presentation.
Chisholm Institute official Rob Cook was also at the event.
