Accused ISIS supporter in court

A Hampton Park disability pensioner accused of funding Islamic State fighters in Syria has reappeared briefly at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
Isa Kocoglu, 43, allegedly sent almost $4000 via PayPal and bank deposits to the cause in 2013 and 2014.
On 29 January, his lawyer told the court they would test digital evidence extracted by police from Mr Kocoglu’s electronic devices.
Mr Kocoglu has been charged with providing support to a person engaged in hostile activity in Syria.
The maximum penalty, if found guilty, is 10 years’ jail.
He was bailed to appear at a committal hearing on 13 July.
