Art goers are getting themselves locked-up in Bunjil Place Gallery’s latest head-spinning installation.
Dubbed ‘The Cell’, the artwork requires visitors to dress in a costume and crawl through a tunnel into a striped cell.
Its creator Brook Andrews says the experience is transformational inside this disorienting “conundrum”.
“It’s like you become an inmate, a cellular astronaut or asylum seeker.
“Experiences of loss, asylum and genocide, an outsider, is turned on its head.”
The Cell is part of the gallery’s Let’s Play: The art of our time.
It is at the Bunjil Place Studio until 4 February.
