BUDDING rock stars will take centre stage as part of Spectrum Entertainment’s annual Push Start Battle of the Bands competition, an event giving new bands the opportunity to break into the music industry.
Auditions will be held at the Cranbourne Public Hall on Friday 4 July, the Narre Warren Community Learning Centre on Friday 11 July and again at the Cranbourne Public Hall on Friday 25 July.
All auditions will be held from 6pm to 11pm.
Band members need to be aged between 14 and 21.
In recent years, the competition has exposed some of the best local talent including last year’s winning band, Silver Reasons, along with The Landlords, Omniana and My Own Enemy.
The winning band will go on to perform at the Push Start Battle of the Bands regional final. It will also get a prize pack from Pony Music and a guaranteed spot in the line-up for Spectrum Entertainment’s Live’n’Loud gig in November.
Applications are now open and forms are available from the City of Casey’s youth participation officer, Chris Cogger, on 9705 5200.
