Haileybury College in Berwick held their annual Book Week Parade on Friday, 24 August.
“We had activities all week, including treasure hunts and craft activities at lunchtime and head of campus Mrs Rawlings read a story at recess on Friday,” head of library services Jessica Gallagher said.
“We encouraged the students to dress as a character from a book, and to bring the book with them to school. They got a point for dressing up, and another for having the book.
“They got points for participating in the audience of recess readers and the treasure hunts too and we awarded a trophy at Friday’s assembly to the class who had the most points which was Prep R.”
The college also had workshops, authors and illustrators visit the junior and middle school students throughout the week – 14 sessions in total.
