Bunnings’ sizzle to aid Burmese

MORE than $800 was raised by local Bunnings Warehouse team members during a recent sausage sizzle charity fundraiser at the Fountain Gate store.
The money will go towards the people affected by Cyclone Nargis in Burma.
About $180,000 was raised across all stores in Australia and New Zealand.
The Save the Children organisation helped coordinate the fundraising efforts.
Bunnings Warehouse Fountain Gate complex manager Ray Juhani thanked the wider community.
“Every cent raised by this sausage sizzle appeal will reach those in need in Burma,” he said.
“It’s great to see communities band together and offer their support to people in need—the Australian spirit is alive and well.”
Save the Children CEO Margaret Douglas also thanked local residents who visited the Fountain Gate store and bought a sausage.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Bunnings and its customers for helping with the relief efforts in Burma, this will help us reach even more of those affected by the disaster, providing them with food, water, materials and basic household items,” she said.
